Hi! I’m Allison,
a Detroit based human person.
I didn't officially start my ceramic journey until late into my 6-year stint living in Los Angeles, when I signed up for a beginner wheel-throwing class just for fun. Almost two years later, it's still enjoyable, and I've racked up an obscene amount of studio time, disappearing into the ever-expansive, wondrous world of pottery.
Things that inspire me:
My partner Gordon’s endless curiosity about how things work (and his undying love).
Textiles and patterns: mainly stripes, plaids, herringbone, slubby silk taffeta, twill, and tweed.
Stained wood.
Power cables and telephone poles.
Schematic renderings.
Words like electret, diode, potentiometer, coil, and oscillator.
Cut glass.
The middle of the 20th century.
Cobalt blue.
