Hi! I’m Allison,

a Detroit based human person.

I didn't officially start my ceramic journey until late into my 6-year stint living in Los Angeles, when I signed up for a beginner wheel-throwing class just for fun. Almost two years later, it's still enjoyable, and I've racked up an obscene amount of studio time, disappearing into the ever-expansive, wondrous world of pottery.

Things that inspire me:

  • My partner Gordon’s endless curiosity about how things work (and his undying love).

  • Textiles and patterns: mainly stripes, plaids, herringbone, slubby silk taffeta, twill, and tweed.

  • Stained wood.

  • Power cables and telephone poles.

  • Schematic renderings.

  • Words like electret, diode, potentiometer, coil, and oscillator.

  • Cut glass.

  • The middle of the 20th century.

  • Cobalt blue.
